Working with patients with developmental disabilities

Tools and Guidelines

The Developmental Disabilities Primary Care Initiative published Primary Care of Adults with Developmental Disabilities: Canadian Consensus Guidelines to help primary care providers to follow best practices in the care of their patients who have developmental disabilities. The group also developed a suite of tools to help primary care providers implement the guidelines.

These tools cover a range of issues in general care of adults, physical health and behavioural and mental health.

You can download copies of the tools from the Surrey Place Centre Website.
